Pilots of Darsalon official artwork of the main menu

If you're in the mood for a bit of an oldschool experience, you might want to keep an eye on the upcoming Pilots of Darsalon. To put it simply, Pilots of Darsalon is a Commodore 64 inspired action game where the flying is heavily based on physics and momentum, quite similar in spirit to 1986's Thrust.

Since that last part has likely made things more confusing than anything else, allow me to also share with you the recently posted trailer. It'll hopefully clue you in quite nicely on what to expect:

In terms of actual features, Pilots of Darsalon brings with it some lovely pixel art that combines 2D sprites and 3D models, 8 bit music based on C64's old SID chip, as well as fifteen levels of increasingly more challenging missions. And if you want to tweak things even further, there will also be three difficulty modes to mess around with. Pretty basic stuff, but for this kind of game, it's probably best to keep things short, sweet and highly focused lest it overstays its welcome.

Pilots of Darsalon will be landing onto Steam this May 28th. You can learn more about it, as well as keep an eye on any future updates, over at the official website.
