After going through a brief round of testing, the isometric and Souls-like action RPG Achilles: Legends Untold has now landed into Steam Early Access. As you might imagine given the combination of genres, Achilles is all about slicing and dicing your way through groups of enemies, all the while taking great care of your positioning and timing as they are going to be the only things keeping you from becoming a colorful smear on the floor.
What this looks like in gameplay, as well as what sort of atmosphere Achilles is going for, that you can find out through the launch trailer below. Have a gander:
As with many other Early Access games, Achilles shows a great deal of potential, though right now it's still a bit rough around the edges. So unless you're extremely eager to dive in, I'd highly recommend giving the developers a bit more time to get everything polished up and ready for prime time.
Speaking of which, the plan is for Achilles to spend about a year in Early Access and release at some point in Q1 2023. The full version will bring with it four additional chapters, a whole assortment of new locations and abilities to mess around with, co-op with up to four players, and naturally, a whole bunch of quality-of-life improvements based on player feedback.
You can keep an eye on Achilles' progress, as well as check out some of the player reviews for the current version, over at Steam. Enjoy!
