Dead Cells official artwork and logo

It took what feels like an eternity to get here, but Dead Cells' bittersweet final Update 35: The End is Near has now been unleashed. There's three new enemy variants to smash your head against, three new Curse-based weapons to accidentally end your run with, as well as an equally cursed biome effect to conquer for extra rewards.

Perhaps most importantly of all, there's a ton of new cosmetics to collect! More specifically - shiny new heads! By completing all sorts of challenges, many of which involve beating bosses in as stylish of a manner as possible, you'll be able to pretend that your character is not called The Beheaded and adorn yourself with a variety of garish headwear.

On the gameplay front you can also expect to see numerous new legendary affixes for your gear, new routes connecting all of the different locations so you can keep mixing things up with each run, as well as a couple of new accessibility options and general fixes to round everything out.

As you might imagine by how quickly I've managed to summarize it all, Update 35: The End is Near is not exactly massive. Then again, it really didn't need to be. Dead Cells has been in an excellent place for a very long time now, so all of this extra stuff is just like adding a cherry on top. It's unnecessary, it doesn't change anything about the dessert, but it's still a nice little touch and definitely appreciated!

You can check out the full list of changes, as well as read a heartfelt goodbye from the Dead Cells team, over at Steam. Enjoy, and if you haven't already, you really should give Dead Cells a try. It's great!
