[Update #2]: My Overwatch 2 review is now out, and to put it simply it's a terrible sequel, though thankfully a terrific game!
[Update]: Overwatch 2 is removing the phone number requirement for all veteran players.
It took far longer than anyone could've ever expected, but Overwatch 2 has now finally been unleashed. The free-to-play sequel brings with it three new heroes to mess around with, a brand new game mode and a variety of new maps to explore, a Battle Pass and in-game store combo instead of loot boxes, and most importantly of all, 5v5 matches with only one super-powered tank on each side!
What all of these maps and heroes look like in action, that you can get a pretty good idea of through the launch trailer below. Have a gander:
I'll have a proper review up in the near future, but long story short, Overwatch 2 is a terrific game and a terrible sequel. The gameplay and the balance have been greatly improved and I've had an absolute blast playing it, especially on the tank side of things, though sadly there is very little actually new about the game to warrant the '2'. It's mostly just a chunky update for the original Overwatch, which begs the question of what Blizzard were even doing for the past few years. Still, I would recommend diving in and giving it a try. After all, it's both fun and entirely free!
You can do so, as well as learn more about the heroes themselves, over at the official website. Enjoy, and make sure to give Orisa a try as her new incarnation is incredible!
