Rumors about the PC version of Sunset Overdrive have been circulating for nearly a year now, though at no point did Microsoft or Insomniac Games ever comment anything about it. Things became really interesting a few weeks ago when it was found out that Sunset Overdrive has been rated by the ESRB, thus leading many to speculate that we would be getting a full announcement in the very near future.

Well, a part of that has now ended up being true. However, instead of just releasing an announcement for the PC version of Sunset Overdrive like many people expected, Insomniac Games have now simply released the full game onto the Windows Store and Steam at a $20 price tag. From what I can tell the multiplayer portion of it appears to be missing, but for the relatively low price of $20 I suppose that's a fair trade-off.

I can't comment about the state of the PC port given that it has quite literally just arrived onto Steam and no reviews are available, but if you're wondering whether the gameplay itself is worth looking into, I would say the answer is a tentative yes. For me the humor was a bit of a flop as it relies far too much on references and "lol gamer jokes lol", but the ridiculously over-the-top combat and colorful visuals more than made up for it. So if you're interested in a lighthearted action-adventure and you don't have overly high expectations of it, I do believe Sunset Overdrive is worth a closer look.

Speaking of which, you can learn more about Sunset Overdrive, as well as grab yourself a copy, by visiting the official website. And just for good measure, allow me to leave you with the recently posted PC launch trailer. Have fun!
