After remastering and enhancing whole bunch of classic RPGs like Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights and Planescape: Torment, Beamdog has decided to take things in a completely different direction with their newest game. Instead of yet another CRPG, or even something inspired by them, the freshly released MythForce is a 80s cartoon themed roguelite dungeon crawler.
Unsurprisingly, this means that MythForce is all about jumping head-first into a variety of randomized adventures, be this in singleplayer or co-op multiplayer. From there you'll have to slice and dice your way through hordes of enemies, acquire a variety of fancy items and upgrades to customize your build, and slowly but surely work on getting better in order to conquer all of the challenges in one go.
What all of this looks like in action, that you can check out through the recently posted launch trailer. Have a gander:
While its reception so far seems to be positive, it's well worth mentioning that MythForce is still in Early Access and thus unfinished. It'll most likely remain there for about a year, during which it will receive major content updates every couple of months, with minor patches sprinkled throughout to add some quality-of-life tweaks and balance changes.
So if you're curious you can learn more about MythForce's Early Access plans, as well as the keep track of its updates moving forward, over at the official website. Enjoy!
