If you were hoping to dive into Alan Wake 2 this October 17th, I'm afraid I have a bit of bad news. According to the latest developer update, Alan Wake 2's release date has now been pushed back ten days, or until October 27th to be specific.
As for the reason behind the delay, that would be the simple fact that October is absolutely stacked with interesting games so Remedy figured they'd give themselves, and their players, a bit of breathing room. Additionally, this puts Alan Wake 2's launch closer to Halloween, which is definitely a plus given its atmosphere and tone.
It's also worth mentioning that Remedy will be releasing a preview showing off the Dark Place next week. So if you're curious about what Alan Wake 2 has to offer, as well as how it differs from its predecessors, you might want to keep an eye on that one.
Once said preview arrives, or Remedy announces anything else of note, I'll make sure to let you know. Until then, you can read a few more tidbits about Alan Wake 2 over at the official website.
Enjoy, and I'll leave you with one of the earlier teasers:
