[Update #2]: Overwatch 2's closed beta has now begun, and soon everyone will be able to jump in.

[Update]: As expected, Blizzard has now detailed Sojourns abilities and playstyle!

Almost exactly two years have gone by since Echo joined the Overwatch roster, so in order to celebrate this little anniversary Blizzard has now decided to reveal some lore about one of the new heroes - Sojourn. While the actual gameplay details are still mostly rooted in rumors and speculation, we at least have a shred of information about Sojourn's backstory!

So if you're curious what she's all about, as well as what her role in Overwatch was before she moved on, you can find your answers in the origin trailer below. Have a gander:

Given that the Overwatch 2 Closed Beta will be going live on April 26th, and that Sojourn will be one of the available heroes, it's highly likely we'll also get a proper hero spotlight trailer in the near future. Once that happens, I'll make sure to let you know as I'm quite excited to see it myself.

Until then, it's also worth mentioning that the Overwatch 2 team will be reworking classic maps in order to make them function with only one tank per team, as well as implementing an Apex Legends inspired ping system to help with communication in even the most hectic of firefights. The beta will only feature new maps so we won't be able to see any of the reworks just yet, though the ping system will be available for testing.
