[Update]: Exoprimal has now been unleashed and, much to my surprise, it's surprisingly competitive!
It's not every day someone takes your childhood fantasies and makes a game out of them, yet that's exactly what Capcom is doing with Exoprimal. To put it quite bluntly, Exoprimal is a team-based action game that's just an excuse to have mechs duke it out with hordes of dinosaurs, and yes, I absolutely want to play it!
Since words alone can't really do this concept justice, allow me to share with you the recently posted trailer. It should give you a pretty good idea of just how ridiculously over-the-top all of this truly is. Have a peek:
While the exact details are still few and far between, Exoprimal's main game mode will see two teams of five players compete in a variety of PvE and PvP missions. The most interesting thing here is that you'll apparently need to fight alongside your opponents against the dinosaur menace, so the PvP aspects might not be as prevalent as they seem at first glance. Whatever the case may be, I'm happy that Exoprimal doesn't appear to be a looter-shooter and is instead going for a more focused multiplayer experience.
As far as the release platforms are concerned, Exoprimal will be launching onto PC, Xbox and PlayStation at some point in 2023. Once we get an actual release date, ideally alongside a gameplay preview, I'll make sure to let you know. Until then you can learn a tiny bit more about Exoprimal and its various mechs over at the official website.
