[Update #2]: Paradox's next big grand strategy game, Victoria 3, will be launching on October 25th.
[Update]: Crusader Kings 3 will be doubling the price of its smaller DLC packs on September 13th, 2022.
If you're in the mood for a bit of scheming, murder, treachery and occasionally pretending you're trying to actually rule a country, you'll be happy to hear that Crusader Kings 3 has now arrived. Much like it's predecessor, Crusader Kings 3 is a grand strategy game that allows you to follow one dynasty through the ages as they amass power, conquer new lands, and then lose it all in a series of increasingly ridiculous and 'fool-proof' maneuvers.
All of this does come with one rather major downside, the same one that follows all of Paradox's grand strategy games - the barrier to entry is quite high. Unless you have experience with the genre, it'll likely take you a fair few hours to get the hang of everything, and then even more hours before you can start going off-script and creating silly scenarios for yourself.
So if you do decide to grab Crusader Kings 3, make sure to first look up a couple of tutorials as that'll greatly help your initial playthrough. You don't even need to worry about this ruining your starting experience as you'll likely ruin your own country and have to restart before long anyway!
Whatever your choice may be, you can learn more about Crusader Kings 3 over at Steam. Have fun, and I'll leave you with the launch trailer, just for good measure:
