[Update]: Cyberpunk 2077 has been delayed yet again, this time until December 10, 2020.
If you were hoping to dive into Cyberpunk 2077 this April 16th, I'm afraid I have some bad news. According to a recent developer update, Cyberpunk 2077 has now been delayed until September 17, 2020.
As for the reasoning behind the delay, it's pretty much the same story you've heard with the other games that have been pushed back this year. In other words, the development team needs a few extra months to ensure everything is as polished as it could possibly be, before finally unleashing millions of players to wreak havoc upon the game world.
"We are currently at a stage where the game is complete and playable, but there's still work to be done," reads the brief update. "Night City is massive - full of stories, content and places to visit, but due to the sheer scale and complexity of it all, we need more time to finish playtesting, fixing and polishing."
"We want Cyberpunk 2077 to be our crowning achievement for this generation and postponing launch will give us the precious months we need to make the game perfect. Expect more regular updates on progress as we get closed to the new release date"
Once more information becomes available I'll make sure to let you know since I'm quite eager to give it a try myself. Until then, however, I'll leave you with the rather nifty E3 cinematic trailer. Enjoy!
