Dragon's Dogma might be getting a sequel if the PC port turns out to be a success

[Update]: It took a decade, but Dragon's Dogma 2 is now finally in development!

With Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen only a week away from its PC release on January 15th there has been a slue of information released about it.

The most interesting of which is definitely the interview a couple of Dragon's Dogma developers did with PC Gamer where they've stated that the team is still very interested in making a direct sequel.

When asked whether the series still means a lot to Capcom and if they are considering a sequel Minae Matsukawa, the producer for Dragon's Dogma, had this to say:

"The Dragon’s Dogma development team members often talk about the possibility of a sequel. We’d love to hear the opinions and feedback from players of the upcoming PC port of Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen, as that will increase the chances that we can look into the possibility of continuing the series."

As you can see its not a direct confirmation and everything will depend on how well the PC port goes over but given how confidently they've showcased it so far I have high hopes. Speaking of hope, perhaps if the PC port of Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen ends up bringing in enough new fans they might consider localizing Dragon's Dogma: Online which is currently exclusive to the Japanese market.

If you're interested in a few more tidbits about Dragon's Dogma and the development team themselves I'd suggest you check out PC Gamer's interview, its rather brief.
