[Update #2]: Vermintide 2 is celebrating its Fifth Anniversary with a free weekend, triple experience and festive map.

[Update]: In celebration of the series' seventh anniversary, Vermintide 2 has just added a frigid new map - Trail of Treachery.

The Vermintide series is currently celebrating its seventh anniversary, and in order to get as many people in on the festivities as possible, Fatshark has now decided to give away Vermintide 2! Simply head on over to Steam, click on that giant green "Add to Account" button, and you'll be ready to slice and dice through hordes of ratmen in no time.

Speaking of which, you should probably not dawdle as the giveaway will be ending soon, on November 7th. The good news is that once you have Vermintide 2 on your Steam account, it'll be yours to keep forever and you'll be able to play it whenever you want and for however long you want.

Personally, as a long-time fan of the series, I would highly recommend taking Fatshark up on their offer here. Vermintide 2 is one of the most enjoyable co-op games I've played in quite a few years, and it's only getting better and better with time as Fatshark just keeps adding more unique new content, polish and even new character classes to mess around with.

In fact, there's even a big update planned for November 8th! The definite highlight is the brand new map - Trail of Treachery - that will see our noble heroes fight their way down a precarious mountain path in order to save a village that's apparently having a problem with ghosts! What this looks like in action, that you can check out below:

The good news doesn't end there, however, as the Trail of Treachery map is only the begining of a two-part adventure, with the conclusion launching at some point in 2023. So even though Warhammer 40k: Darktide is nearly upon us, Fatshark doesn't seem to be all that interested in giving up on Vermintide 2 just yet!

Once we get more information about the new map, or the November 8th update simply rolls around, I'll make sure to let you know. Until then, you can learn more about Vermintide and its anniversary celebrations over at the special Steam page. Enjoy!
