Fallout 4 is a bit of a controversial game. Some people absolutely love it, while other people love to absolutely hate on it, which has made doing any sort of research on it a bit of a pointless task. Thankfully, Bethesda has just now announced a free weekend, so if you ever wanted to know whether Fallout 4 is something you might enjoy, you now have a chance to do just that!
All of the base content in Fallout 4 (including mods) will be completely free to try out from May 25 to 28 on both PC and Xbox. If you're wondering about the exact times, the free weekend will run from Thursday at 7pm CEST until Sunday at 10pm CEST. Once the promotion goes live you will be able to download Fallout 4 via Steam on PC, and somewhere on Xbox Live Gold for those of you on consoles.
In addition to the free weekend both Fallout 4 and its Season Pass will be up to 67% off. Given the wording I think its safe to assume that the base version of Fallout 4 will be on a 67% discount, while the relatively newer DLCs will be on a much lower discount. Either way, the sale will last until Monday at 7pm CEST, so don't feel pressured to purchase anything until you've put in a decent amount of time into the free weekend. Have fun, and here's the official launch trailer to properly set the mood:
