UnderRail, a Fallout inspired Isometric RPG is leaving Early Access on December 18th

The old Fallout and DnD RPGs defined my childhood so when UnderRail showed up on Early Access some three years ago I was instantly drawn to it. Ironically enough it was the rather plain graphics the game had back then that really got my attention, my reasoning being that if they decided to release an Early Access game looking like that they must've had a deep and complex game beneath it. As it so turns out, I was right.

Now, three years later the graphics have been much improved, along with everything else, and UnderRail is getting ready for its release on December 18th.

In brief, UnderRail is an isometric RPG set in a network of metro tunnels long after the surface has become uninhabitable. Much like in the old Fallout games you will get roped in to events far beyond your understanding and you will need to use your skills, wit and fighting prowess in order to get past any obstacles that might stand in your way.

I'll embed the trailer below so you can get a better idea of what its is all about:

As for me, I must admit that I've intentionally kept myself in the dark in regards to UnderRail, and I don't mean that as a bad pun, I just find it silly to be a part of a beta test for a game that relies so heavily on storytelling and player choices. While I haven't spoiled myself on the story I did take a look at some gameplay videos and this really seems like a true successor to the old Fallout games with plenty of skills, dialogue and different ways of solving problems.

So if you're like me and you're really itching for a good RPG after Fallout 4 failed to deliver on that front I'd keep an eye on UnderRail, this one has potential.

Up for some more?
