After almost a year of rumors Square Enix has officially confirmed the existence of a Final Fantasy 12 remaster: The Zodiac Age. Its set to arrive at some point in 2017 for the PS4, but given that the PC currently hosts the majority of Final Fantasy games I think its safe to assume its going to be ported over as well.
The Zodiac Age will bring with it remastered visuals, true 7.1 surround sound and a remastered soundtrack, a trial mode of some sorts, improved performance and loading times, autosaving, and the Zodiac leveling system. If you're wondering what the new music and graphics look like, here's the recently posted trailer:
While all of that seems to be incredible, there is one potentially big downside to this whole remaster, its price tag. According to the Square Enix Store The Zodiac Age will set you back $50, which if you ask me is a bit ridiculous for what is essentially a graphical overhaul. You could get by for a lot less if you simply bought the original and then used an emulator in order to upscale the graphics, though I'd imagine the target audience and those with a powerful enough PC don't overlap very much.
If you're interested in a few more tidbits of information I'd suggest you head over to the Playstation blog, they've done a brief summary of all the changes alongside some fancy screenshots.
