[Update]: Final Fantasy XIV's Patch 6.1 will mark the beginning of a brand new story.
After going through a brief early access phase, Final Fantasy XIV's long-awaited Endwalker expansion has now finally been unleashed in full! It brings with it Sage and Reaper as new jobs, a whole bunch of new storylines and quests to uncover, new dungeons and raid, the male Viera as a new playable race, and the list goes on for quite a while.
What all of this looks like in game, that you can get a bit of a sneak peek at through the recently posted launch trailer. Have a gander, and do be warned that the video does feature some minor spoilers for the previous main storylines as they do directly lead into the Endwalker one:
While the Endwalker expansion has been enjoying a great reception ever since its early access launch, I would recommend you abstain from it for at least a couple of days. Right now the servers are being hit incredibly hard by the ever-increasing number of players trying to get in, which means that the queue times are similarly getting higher and higher.
So unless you want to schedule your gameplay an hour or more in advance, it would probably be wise to play something else for a few days before finally diving back into Endwalker unimpeded. And don't worry about missing out on anything as the Pandaemonium raid won't even open its gates until December 21st, while the Savage difficulty will only unlock on January 4th.
But whatever your choice may be, I hope you have fun, and I wish you the best of luck with the queues!
