I'm sure this won't come as much of a surprise given that the big reveal was accidentally leaked just ahead of Blizzcon, but Hearthstone's next stop will be the Stranglethorn Arena with the Rastakhan's Rumble expansion. As is tradition, the upcoming expansion will bring with it 135 new cards, a singleplayer adventure, as well as a variety of interesting mechanics to toy around with.

For example, you can expect to see new cards with the "Overkill" tag that gives them a special benefit whenever they kill a minion by dealing more than its health in damage. Given that this is a Troll themed expansion, there will naturally be numerous legendary Loa minions to help you turn the tides, as well as a brand new minion type called Spirits that are stealthed for one turn after being played.

If you're wondering how all of this translates into actual gameplay, you'll find some of the currently revealed cards over at the official website. Personally, I'm the most excited to see how Surrender to Madness (pictured below) can be utilized because that's the sort of insanely powerful yet equally suicidal card that just seems like damn good fun.

Yes, please!

As for the Rumble Run singleplayer adventure, its looking like yet another variant of the Dungeon Run, which is always a good thing in my book! From what we can tell so far, you'll have to select three champions at the very start of your run which will define your class, after which you will be able to ally yourself with the various Troll Loa and really bring down the hurt on anyone that stands in your way. A fairly simple concept, but Blizzard has managed to pull it off successfully numerous times now, so I have no doubts the Rumble Run will be quite enjoyable as well.

You can learn a little bit more about Rumble Run, as well as Rastakhan's Rumble itself, by visiting the Hearthstone website. And just for good measure, allow me to leave you with the always-lovely musical trailer. Enjoy!

Up for some more?
