The International 2024 tournament is nearly upon us, and while it's no longer as big of a deal as it used to be, it's still in everyone's best interest to have the games be as close and exciting as possible. So in order to achieve that, Valve has now unleashed Patch 7.37c.
As you would expect from a pre-tournament patch, the changes aren't exactly massive. However, that doesn't mean they aren't impactful as Valve has targeted the recently resurgent healing meta across multiple vectors. As such, items like Pipe of Insight, Mekansm and Holy Locket have been slightly toned down, as has the freshly buffed Omniknight.
Besides the nerfs to the healing meta, we also have the traditional Pangolier nerf that is unlikely to make him any less of an omnipresent character in the tournament, nerfs to a couple of Ringmaster's abilities as he was seriously overperforming, as well as even more nerfs to support Tinker in order to ensure things don't get too out of hand.
And most importantly of all, it looks like Valve has finally set their sights on Gleipnir, which is one of my least favorite items given how effective it is at so many different things. The current nerfs have reduced its health bonus and slightly reduced the damage of the chain ability, but hopefully in the future we'll also see a small price increase as right now the recipe gives a lot of power for how little it costs.
Whatever the case may be, I'll make sure to let you know once the next big update arrives, most likely a month or so after The International 2024. Until then, enjoy the games!
