Back in my youth I would consider news like this terrible, if a game is being delayed for a few months that means I won't get to play it soon, and that was just too much for my young self! Nowadays, I've come to appreciate companies willing to delay their game in order to bring out the best version of it they can rather than simply rushing out a barely working mess in order to cash in on whatever shopping season is currently ongoing.

And after so many botched AAA PC releases in the past few months its even more commendable to see a giant like EA delay their game despite announcing a while back that their targeted release date is in the first quarter of 2016.

In a short blog post, Sara Jansson (senior producer) had this to say about the change of the release date:

"Mirror’s Edge Catalyst will be an all-new playground with a deeper and more engaging story - and we want to accomplish all these goals to the highest quality possible.

So we’ve made the decision to bring Mirror’s Edge to the world starting May 24, 2016. We will use these few extra months to make sure that when you step into the massive City of Glass and experience the rise of Faith, it’s as entertaining, impressive, and memorable as it can be."

The original game, Mirror's Edge, was very inovative and really fun to play but it was obvious that it was rushed out of the door so it never got the chance to be as good as it could be. Now, with this delay it would appear that both EA and DICE are aware of this so they are going to work on it a few more months in order to polish the game to a mirror finish. And after that amazing joke I'll leave you with the gameplay trailer:
