[Update #2]: Overwatch's Year of the Ox event is launching this February 4th alongside the Capture the Flag mode.
[Update]: Overwatch is looking to nerf Tracer, Zenyatta and Echo in order to help out tanks.
After going through a brief period of testing over the holiday season, Overwatch's newest free-for-all map Kanezaka has now been unleashed onto the live servers. This new Japanese map is located directly below Hanamura and is designed to support as many playstyles as possible, all the while being quite pleasing on the eyes thanks to some lovely scenery and the cutesy cat cafe that features all of Blizzard's pet cats.
The update has also brought with it some major nerfs to Sigma, Wrecking Ball and Ashe, as well as a surprise buff for Hanzo. These are exactly the same tweaks as in the recent Experimental update, so if you were hoping Blizzard would ease off on the Sigma shield nerf, I'm afraid you're out of luck. Still, Sigma has a tendency to bounce back a week or two after every single nerf, so I wouldn't discount him just yet.
As an additional little bonus, Blizzard has also launched a Hanzo focused challenge. Win nine matches across any official game mode and you'll be granted a brand new player icon, spray and a rather cool Hanzo skin. And if you're looking for even more adorable sprays to add to your collection, you can also watch Overwatch on Twitch to earn an additional six throughout the event.
You can read a little bit more about all of this, as well as check out Kanezaka, over at the official website. Have fun, and I'll leave you with one of the trailers:
