It hasn't even been two weeks since Blizzard added a whole bunch of new cosmetics to Overwatch via the Blizzard World update, and already there are more waiting just around the corner. As expected, the new skins will be themed after the Lunar New Year holiday and will set you back 3000 in-game credits for each of the legendary ones. In other words, I sure hope you didn't spend all of your credits buying the recently released Blizzard World stuff!
Even if you did, you still have a bit of time to recover as the Year of the Dog update is set to arrive next week, on February 8th. There are unfortunately no details available just yet, but you can get a brief look at a very festive Lijiang Tower over at the Overwatch twitter.
Besides a whole bunch of cosmetics and voice lines, it is expected that the Year of the Dog update will also bring with it the return of the Capture the Flag game mode. If you remember, it was removed from the standard Arcade rotation quite a few months ago in order to give the developers enough time to improve upon its flaws, so it's highly likely that Blizzard will use its anniversary to bring about a brand new version. I certainly hope so, because even though CTF was a flawed game mode, it was still a highly enjoyable one.
I would love to tell you more, but that's pretty much the long and short of it. If Blizzard decides to release a few more teasers before the event itself I'll make sure to update you, but until then I would suggest you head on over to Competitive Play and give the new and Mercy-free meta a try. Have fun!
