[Update]: Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous' Inevitable Excess expansion has now arrived, though sadly alongside some harsh criticism.
If you were hoping to get your hands on Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous' Inevitable Excess expansion this week, I'm afraid I bring some bittersweet news. In order to give the team enough to time to balance and polish the high-powered DLC, Owlcat Games have now pushed back Inevitable Excess to March 3, 2022.
"After we ran a number of internal tests, we realized that the experience you would get from this new adventure was not as mythic as we wanted it to be," reads the brief announcement. "We wanted you to feel great and powerful, but also face the foes that would be tricky and challenging enough. But some of the new battle encounters we designed didn’t convey our intentions properly, and we felt like the new enemies and their mechanical features needed more balancing"
"Meanwhile, we would like you to meet Valmallos [the lovely chap in the two pieces of artwork]. Those of you who are well-versed in the Pathfinder lore already know him as the keeper of magic, who dwells on the plane of Axis, where your travels will take you in this DLC. Valmallos is one of the inevitables, mechanical aeons, who were created by axiomites a long time ago to oversee the laws of the universe, and this one is particularly concerned by the threat the Worldwound possesses to the laws of magic. But what part will you play in his plans?"
Once Inevitable Excess is finally ready I'll make sure to let you know. Until then, you can read a tiny bit more about it and its development over at Steam. Enjoy!
