After going through an extremely successful Fig crowdfunding campaign and fairly smooth development, Pillars of Eternity 2 will be officially released this May 8th for PC, Mac and Linux. It will continue on with the original's storyline, while also adding player-control ships, the ability to wonder across a vast world in search of uncharted islands and ancient relics, a whole bunch of new enemies to battle against, and as expected, a variety of interesting companions to do all of that with.

It's pretty much a highlight reel of some of the most interesting features and characters you'll get to mess around with, so I'd definitely recommend you give it a glance if you're on the fence about Pillars of Eternity 2. As far as the console versions are concerned, no new information has been released just yet, but you can expect Pillars of Eternity 2 to arrive on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and the Switch at some point towards the end of 2018.
The final thing worth mentioning is that Obsidian recently announced three pieces of post-launch DLC. They will be coming in two-month intervals, with the first "Beast of Winter" DLC arriving in July of 2018. You can find all of the details over here.
