[Update]: Syberia: The World Before has now arrived, and outside of the puzzle being fairly easy, so far it seems like a solid new game in the series.
While the original creator of the series Benoît Sokal has sadly passed away last year, I'm happy to say that his legacy lives on as the fourth Syberia game he worked on is now nearly ready to launch. And when I say nearly, I really do mean that as Syberia: The World Before has just been pinned for a March 18th, 2022 release date!
Much like the rest of the series, Syberia: The World Before will be a point & click adventure heavily focused around storytelling and puzzle solving. The big twist this time around, however, is that you will be playing as two characters in two different time periods, which should offer a rather interesting perspective on the world.
What all of this looks like in actual gameplay, as well as what the story might really be about, that you can get a few hints at through the recently posted trailer. Have a peek:
Once Syberia: The World Before finally arrives I'll make sure to let you know. Until then, you can read a few more tidbits about it and its development over at Steam.
Enjoy, and here's to hoping Syberia: The World Before ends up being an excellent capstone to all of Benoît Sokal's work!
