Shuhei Yoshida, president of Sony Computer Entertainment, confirmed that there will be an official app for PS4 remote play on the PC as well as Mac.

While I'm aware this won't be of any consequence to many of you its still a nice option to have available. Here's what Yoshida had to say:

"Some people asked if we plan to provide Remote Play function to PC, and yes, we are indeed working on an official application for PC/Mac. :D"

The Xbox One has a similar system but that one is far more limiting since its only available on Windows 10 while the upcoming PS4 Remote Play will work on any modern Windows as well as Mac.

I'll be the first to admit I'm not much of a console fan but I think its the best for the health of the entire industry if Sony and Microsoft continue one-upping each-other like this because at the end of the day, its we the customers that benefit.
