[Update #2]: Resident Evil 3 and its companion Resident Evil 3 Resistance have been released, though sadly they don't seem to have lived up to the high standards set by Resident Evil 2.
[Update]: The open beta for Resident Evil Resistance is now finally live on PC after some major delays.
Resident Evil 3 will be making its way to PC and consoles this April 3rd, but it won't be doing so alone. It will be bundled with Resident Evil Resistance, a 4v1 asymmetrical multiplayer game where a group of survivors attempts to escape the clutches of an evil mastermind that controls both the traps and enemies.
In order to get everything squared away for launch, Resident Evil Resistance was supposed to have an Open Beta starting from March 27 and ending right before the official release. Unfortunately, it would appear that only the Xbox One beta will be proceeding as planned given that the PC and PS4 versions have now been delayed due to technical problems.
The new start date hasn't been announced just yet, but according to the brief developer update, the team is working hard on making sure it goes live as soon as possible. I can only hope they'll manage to do just that, because April 3rd really is just around the corner.
On the positive side, Capcom has also revealed that Resident Evil 3's Jill Valentine will be making her way to Resident Evil Resistance as a part of a free update. The details are once again few and far between, but it's always good to know there's more content right on the horizon.
You can learn a little bit more about Resident Evil Resistance, as well as keep an eye on the status of the beta, over at the official website.
