The Settlers reboot artwork without logo

[Update]: I have some bad news to deliver - The Settlers reboot has now been postponed due to negative beta feedback.

After many teasers and just as many delays, Ubisoft's big The Settlers reboot has now finally been pinned for a March 17, 2022 release date. If you would like to give it a try ahead of time and see if it's your kind of game, however, you'll also be pleased to hear that that Ubisoft is currently running a free Closed Beta!

The Closed Beta will last until 10am CET on January 24th, during which time you'll be able to play around with two of the factions (Elari & Maru) on two different Skirmish maps in both 1v1 and 2v2 game modes. Best of all, you'll be able to play with and against other players or AI, so regardless of your preference you should have a pretty good time.

As for what exactly you can expect to see in terms of actual gameplay, that you can get a little bit of a peek at through the recently posted preview. Have a gander, it's a short but informative one:

If all of this looks like something you'd love to sink your teeth into, you can sign up for the Closed Beta over at the Ubisoft website. Have fun, and I'll make sure to let you know once the next big gameplay preview goes live.
