A few months have passed since The Elder Scrolls: Legend's Return to Clockwork City expansion, which as you might expect means that a brand new one is just around the corner! Following in The Elder Scrolls Online's footsteps, the newly announced Houses of Morrowind expansion will bring with it 149 new cards featuring many characters and familiar sights from, you guessed it, The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind.
In terms of gameplay the biggest innovation are the new three-attribute (or color if you prefer) cards that let you break the standard deckbuilding rules. Houses of Morrowind will include cards for five of the ten possible three-attribute sets, each representing one of the major Houses from Morrowind, which should in theory offer a breath of fresh air to the overall gameplay.
As far as limitations are concerned, if you decide to use three-attribute cards you will need to include at least 75 cards in your deck and not play cards with any other attributes. In order to accommodate this, as well as make deckbuilding a bit more interesting, the maximum deck size is being raised to 100 for all decks!
There haven't been many cards revealed just yet, but if you would like a bit of a sneak peak you should head on over to the official website. If you're just interested in the release date, Houses of Morrowind will be coming to PC, mobile and tablets on March 28th.
And finally, allow me to leave you with a brief description of each of the five new houses and what exactly they offer to those loyal to them. It's not much, but it should give you a bit of an idea of how each House will play. Anyway, here's the list:
RALLY | House Redoran [STR] [WIL] [END]
Whenever a Rally creature attacks, it gives a random creature in your hand +1/+1.
BETRAY | House Telvanni [INT] [AGI] [END]
After you play this action, you may sacrifice a creature to play it again. Players can only perform betray once per action.
PLOT | House Hlaalu [STR] [WIL] [AGI]
Plot abilities trigger if you’ve played another card that turn. All three of Hlaalu’s attributes – Strength, Willpower, and Agility – have lots of inexpensive cards that will help your plots come to fruition.
EXALT | Tribunal Temple [INT] [WIL] [END]
Exalt offers a creature a bonus if you pay more magicka for it. Paying the exalt cost results in the creature becoming “Exalted” – an important distinction should the gods makes an appearance.
FIVE POWER MATTERS | House Dagoth [STR] [INT] [AGI]
House Dagoth doesn’t wield a traditional keyword. Instead, it seeks raw power. Dagoth cards, found in Strength, Intelligence, and Agility, reward you for having creatures with 5 or more power.
