Humble 2K Bundle games

If you've managed to miss the Steam Summer Sale and are now hungry for some games on the cheap, the latest Humble 2K Bundle 2 might just be what you're looking for.

On the first tier you have the rather excellent The Darkness 2 and Spec Ops: The Line, as well as the less than excellent Duke Nukem Forever, while the higher tiers hold games such as Civilization V, Mafia 2, Battleborn and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. If your interest is piqued, you can check out the bundle by heading over here.

As for my personal recommendations, they depend on what exactly you want to get out of this bundle.

For those of you that are just looking for a short burst of gaming, mostly stuff you will have fun with once but never play again, the first tier is an excellent choice as both The Darkness 2 and Spec Ops: The Line are rather brief games that'll keep you entertained for a few hours each. Duke Nukem: Forever, however, is the odd one out given that its not technically great, but its still fun enough if you can get past some of the strange design choices sprinkled throughout it.

The second tier I'm not a particular fan of, even though the Civilization series is one of my favorites, mostly because Civ V is the only game in there I would even consider playing for an extended period of time. Only go for this one if you know you'll enjoy all three games, and if not, stick to the first tier, it should provide you with more than enough gaming.

As for the final tier, its actually a pretty damn good one. Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is by no means amazing, but its a fun romp in co-op that will have you shooting and looting for hours on end, and Battleborn, despite its rather poor reputation, is a surprisingly enjoyable moba that acts like an FPS. These games aren't for everyone, that much I'm aware of, but if you're the type of person that enjoys Gearbox's particular style of FPS and "hilarious" writing, you will probably enjoy these two as well.

The bundle will last for another 12 days, so make sure to give it a look near the end to see which games get added to the second tier, because if the quality is high enough it might make it a worthy purchase after all.

Up for some more?
