The Neptunia series is not exactly easy to explain, but it's essentially a collection of cutesy JRPGs that serve as satire of the gaming industry, going as far as to make the main characters personifications of various consoles and platforms.

If you're wondering which game to start with, I'm afraid I can offer you very little in terms of help as the Neptunia series is just not my cup of tea. That said, pretty much all of them have ridiculously good reviews on Steam, so if you're simply looking to test the waters and see if you can get into the series, I would say grab the the first tier and check out one of them. Who knows, you might just find something you like.
