In an effort to expand the League of Legends universe, as well as to branch into other genres, Riot Games opened up their own publishing platform back in 2019 - Riot Forge. So far this has resulted in a fast-paced rhythm runner, a turn-based RPG, and thanks to the freshly released The Mageseeker, a hack & slash RPG as well.
Set within the kingdom of Demacia, The Mageseeker will task you with the very simple job of organizing a full-blown rebellion against the tyrannical Mageseekers and those that serve them. In order to do so you'll need to recruit various mages from across the land, build up your base and unlock a variety of new abilities, and since this is a hack & slash we're talking about, beat up a whole bunch of enemies through stylish combos, including characters from League of Legends itself.
What all of this looks like in action, as well as what style The Mageseeker is going for, that you can check out through the launch trailer below. Have a gander:
Judging by the reviews so far, The Mageseeker strikes me as a solid action-RPG that is a nice bit of fun on its own, but becomes far more captivating if you're interested in the League of Legends universe and its characters. So if you're planning to dive in, it might be a good idea to have the wiki open so you can occasionally give it a peek and see if and why some of the characters are significant.
Whatever your plans may be, you can learn more about The Mageseeker, as well as check out some of the player reviews, over at Steam. Have fun getting smacked around by Garen!
