Divinity: Original Sin 2's Definitive Edition official artwork and logo

Divinity: Original Sin 2 Definitive Edition is set to arrive this August, bringing with it an absolute ton of improvements. First and foremost, the Enhanced Edition will come with a much better tutorial that will slowly ease players into all of the various gameplay mechanics, combos and environmental manipulations. Perhaps most importantly, at least for those that are in it for the story above everything else, there will be a new and easier difficulty mode to choose from.

If you prefer a bit of a challenge, however, you'll be glad to hear that a lot of the encounters will be getting reworked in order to be a bit trickier to solve. You can also expect to see a bunch of new encounters, a far more balanced gold/xp curve from Act 2 and onward, as well as some much-needed performance improvements for both console and PC.

As far as the story is concerned, I'm sure you'll be glad to hear that there will be plenty of dialogue changes, new dialogue, and naturally, a ton of new voice lines. There will also be changes to the Act 3 storyline, a new and improved Journal to better keep track of things, as well as a brand new mini companion by the name of Sir Lora. Since this is Divinity: Original Sin 2 we're talking about, I'm sure it won't come as much of a surprise to hear that Sir Lora is a Squirrel Knight riding a skeletal cat!

You can learn a little bit more about all these changes, as well as follow the development process, by visiting Original Sin 2's Kickstarter page. If you prefer the video version, however, I'll leave you with the latest developer update. Enjoy!
