Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana official artwork of the two main characters

Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana was supposed to arrive on PC today, but I'm afraid that's not going to be happening. According to a recent developer update, Ys VIII has been delayed until further notice in order to improve gameplay quality and to enhance the overall experience.

The announcement message has not provided any details, but a game being delayed so suddenly on the eve of its release is usually an indicator of something going terribly, terribly wrong. On the positive side, it does also mean that the developers truly care about making a quality PC port as I cannot imagine this decision being made lightly. The new release date will be announced as soon as its available, but for now we're sadly stuck in the dark.

Speaking of which, if you would like to cancel your pre-order and potentially grab the console version instead, make sure to use this Steam Support link to request a refund. If you pre-ordered your copy outside of Steam you'll have to go through the store itself, but I assume that won't be too big of a problem as they have most likely been notified of the delay. That's pretty much it as far as official information goes. All we can do now is wait and see what happens.
