If you're a fan of oldschool strategy games you're in luck as THQ Nordic has just released Imperium Galactica 1 and 2 with support for modern OS and resolutions. The original Imperium Galactica comes with Dosbox emulation that adds compatibility for Windows 7, 8, and 10, while Imperium Galactica 2 has a few more bells and whistles added to it.

Most notably, Imperium Galactica 2 comes with support for most modern OS (including Mac and Linux), support for modern resolution, as well as a whole bunch of graphical improvements. But perhaps most importantly of all, Imperium Galactica 2 now once again supports multiplayer, and it even comes with a server browser! So if you ever wanted to relive the early days of strategy games, now you a chance to do so.

You can find Imperium Galactica on Steam and GOG, though the GOG version will set you back an extra €0.50. Funnily enough, the reverse applies to Imperium Galactica 2 as its currently €8 on Steam, but €7.50 on GOG. Why THQ decided to alter the price, I have no idea, but thankfully its not significant enough to make either platform the 'obvious' choice.

And finally, for those of you looking for a blast of nostalgia, allow me to share with you the launch trailer for Imperium Galactica 2's tablet version. Enjoy!
