After a whole bunch of teasers and gameplay previews, Total War: Warhammer 2's very first full DLC "Rise of the Tomb Kings" has now arrived. It brings with it a brand new faction with four unique Legendary Lords, an army roster that consists of skeletons and giant stone constructs, unique campaign mechanics and research options, the ability to craft items and Regiments of Renown, and the list goes on.
Rather than to continue babbling on about what the Tomb Kings are all about, allow me to instead share with you one of the recent gameplay previews. It's not very long, but it should give you a pretty damn good idea of how the Tomb Kings work and what exactly makes them special. Have a look:
As for the free update, it has brought with it a brand new Skaven Legendary Lord that starts in Naggarond, a massive rebalance for Bretonnia, a nerf to the Dwarfs AI so that they will finally stop dominating the world, and perhaps most importantly, a couple of changes to autoresolve which should make the poor Skaven AI lose less battles on average. There are far too many changes to simply list out, so if you're interested in all of the details I would recommend you head over to the official website.
On the other hand, if you would like to learn more about the Tomb Kings and their unique mechanics, you should head on over to Steam. Creative Assembly has done an excellent job highlighting all of their important features and units, so it's well worth a look. Either way, have fun with the new patch!
