Total War: Warhammer 2 Warden and the Paunch official artwork

[Update #2]: Total War: Warhammer 2's next major update will bring the long-anticipated Wood Elf rework!

[Update]: The newest beta update has greatly beefed up Orcs and their Black Orc Big Boss hero.

If you're a fan of Greenskins in Total War: Warhammer 2, today should be a pretty darn good day. Not only have they received a bunch of new units and mechanics through The Warden & The Paunch DLC, but the accompanying free update has also reworked them into a downright terrifying force.

First things first, the paid "The Warden & The Paunch DLC" has brought in two Legendary Lords - Grom the Paunch for the Greenskins, and his eternally grumpy rival Eltharion the Grim for the High Elves. There's also a whole assortment of new units for both factions, two highly unique campaigns that play noticeably differently from the rest of their race, as well as some rather interesting new start positions for both characters.

Rather than babble on, allow me to share with you the Batman and Mad Max inspired trailer. It'll clue you in quite quickly on just what The Warden & The Paunch has to offer, as well as how crazy it all truly is. Have a gander:

The free update is perhaps even more exciting as it has added not only the aforementioned Greenskins rework, but also the dragon-collecting Prince Imrik of the High Elves as a free Legendary Lord, as well as numerous improvements to the combat and lighting. There's far too much to cover in brief, so if you're looking for all of the details you should head on over to the official patch notes.

Just to give you a little bit of a taste, however, here's what the update did for the Greenskins: the Waaagh! mechanic has been reworked both on the campaign map and in battles, there is a new scrap system that lets you individually upgrade units, all of the standard Greenskins Legendary Lords have gone through some much-needed tweaks, and most excitingly of all, there are some really unique and Waaagh! exclusive units you can unlock throughout the campaign!

So have fun with all of the new content, and if you're eager to learn more about The Warden & The Paunch, you should head on over to Steam.
