Total War: Warhammer 2 artwork for the Vampire Coast DLC

Total War: Warhammer 2's Curse of the Vampire Coast DLC has now arrived onto Steam, bringing with it a lovely combination of zombie pirates, crazy vampires, nautical nightmares, and naturally, a giant sea dragon. In gameplay terms you can expect to see four new Legendary Lords to play around with, Lore of the Deep as a new school of magic, upgradeable ships for each of your captains, a new infamy mechanic that ties in with the whole pirate theme, and perhaps most importantly of all, the ability to assemble the Star-Metal Harpoon in order to control the gigantic Merwyrm Amnar!

If you're wondering what all of this looks like in actual gameplay, allow me to share with you two of the latest previews. The first one is the short reveal video for the Vampire Coast faction, while the second one is a significantly lengthier campaign walkthrough. Have a gander, they're both good fun:

If you're not a fan of pirates, worry not as this DLC has also brought with it a rather significant free update. You'll find all of the details at the official website, but long story short, there have been some major improvements to the Vampire Counts, Lokhir Fellheart has been added as a new Legendary Lord, tons of Legendary Lord benefits have been reworked, and nearly every faction has received a variety of balance changes. The only downside of this update is that it's so massive it's likely to break your save files, so if you're near the end of your campaign, you might want to finish it before starting the patch.

To learn more about the Curse of the Vampire Coast, including what sort of unique mechanics you'll have to deal with, you should head on over to Steam. Have fun!
