[Update #2]: Total War: Warhammer 3 has made the Immortal Empires combined campaign map free for all owners!

[Update]: I'm pleased to say that everything has gone according to plan and so Update 2.2 has now been unleashed!

As a part of Update 2.0 in August Total War: Warhammer 3 added an absurd amount of new content, improvements and balance changes to play around with. This includes things like the unified Immortal Empires campaign map, a brand new DLC featuring four powerful Chaos champions, the long-awaited arrival of blood & gore effects, a full rework of the Warriors of Chaos faction, a ton of tweaks to a whole bunch of older factions and legendary lords, and the list goes on for a while.

Unsurprisingly, given the sheer scope of the changes, some of the new additions have launched alongside quite a few problems. For example, the AI is currently far too passive and weak to truly challenge the players, even on the hardest difficulty settings. So in order to fix this and similarly annoying problems, Creative Assembly is currently aiming to release Update 2.2 on October 18th!

I'd love to share with you the full patch notes, but aside from some scattered bits of information and a couple of teasers, Creative Assembly has mostly kept things under wraps. That said, I can at least give you a brief rundown of what the Total War: Warhammer 3 team has confirmed so far. Have a look:

• AI Improvements: Several adjustments are being made to the AI based on player feedback: they'll be generally more aggressive, will scale better with their difficulty setting, should employ smarter tactics in Battle, and will (overall) be better allies and vassals.
• Settlement Battles: Numerous adjustments are being made to the number of Settlement Battles encountered throughout a campaign.
• Split Ranked Queue: You'll be able to between Land and Domination Battles in PvP.
• New Endgame Crisis: So far it's looking like our ratty friends the Skaven will be the cause of the next apocalypse.
• Regiments of Renown 3: Much like before, Regiments of Renown will be fancy-looking, unique units you can recruit at certain points in your campaign.
• End Turn crash fix: Fairly self-explanatory, I'd say.

Once more information becomes available, ideally alongside the patch notes, I'll make sure to let you know. Until then you can learn more about Total War: Warhammer 3, as well as keep up with any teasers, over at the official website. Enjoy!
