[Update #2]: A brand new update has now arrived, and as expected, it has brought in even more Beastmen nerfs .

[Update]: As expected, the newest update has now tweaked the Beastmen animations even further.

Vermintide 2's Winds of Magic has arrived a little while ago, bringing with it the Beastmen as a brand new faction to fight against. While the addition was certainly a welcome one, the Beastmen ended up proving themselves to be far stronger than their Skaven and Chaos cousins, especially on the higher difficulty levels.

So in order to sort this little problem out, Fatshark has now released a pretty sizable update that's almost entirely about the Beastmen. Just about everything from their behavior to their damage has been tweaked in some way, which should make them significantly more pleasant to fight against, or as pleasant as a bunch of unwashed goatmen can possibly be.

The most important thing you need to know is that Ungors will now no longer stab players straight through their fellow Beastmen. The Ungors have unfortunately also lost some of their unique behavior due to these changes, but the nerf still had to be done given how unfair it would feel to get stabbed by enemies you couldn't even possibly see through a horde of Gors. Even so, I can only hope these unique movesets will make a return at some point in the future, once the Beastmen have been scrubbed free of any remaining bugs.

While not as relevant to the balance, I'm also extremely happy to say that the Beastmen have now been made a lot lighter in color! As such, a horde of Beastmen will no longer turn into a featureless black blob whenever there is any sort of shadow cast upon them. It sounds like a silly problem, but if you take a look at some of the screenshots from my review, it's one I am more than pleased to see resolved.

You can find the full list of changes, as well as follow any future updates, over at Steam. Have fun!
