[Update #2]: Warcraft 3: Reforged devs have shared a preview of the upcoming Player Profiles.

[Update]: Warcraft 3: Reforged is now getting a major balance patch targeted at low tier heroes and the various mercenary camps.

Blizzard released Warcraft 3: Reforged back in January, and unfortunately it ended up being a bit of a mess. Not only were the actual improvements relatively few in number, but there was also a large amount of bugs and performance issues, while some classic Warcraft 3 features like player profiles ended up missing entirely.

In order to correct this, as well as hopefully make Reforged the remake Warcraft 3 truly deserves, Blizzard announced a series of updates aimed at addressing community concerns. The first of these updates arrived in early February and brought with it some much-needed changes for the Classic Mode, as well as a variety of bug fixes and performance improvements.

The second of these updates has now finally arrived as well, and it once again contains a whole bunch of bug fixes and improvements. Campaign cinematics have had their timings adjusted so there's less awkward pauses, the Custom Games list has been better optimized for searching, new Reforged death sounds have now been correctly replaced with original ones in the Classic mode, and the list goes on.

There is a bit of a downside to this patch, however, as the update has also removed three maps from their respective modes due to instability: Ruins of Stratholme (3v3), Banewood Bog (4v4), and Fountain of Manipulation (FFA). They will likely return once they've been fixed, but even so, it's quite unfortunate to see Warcraft 3: Reforged end up with even less content after a much-needed update.

You can learn more about this patch, as well as follow any future ones, over at the Blizzard forums.
