If you thought the current content drought in World of Warcraft is annoying, I'm afraid I bring some bad news as World of Warcraft: Legion is set to release on August 30, which means everyone gets to enjoy the colors red and green for over a year without anything to break the monotony.
On the positive side, those that pre-order WoW: Legion ($50) will gain access to an instant level 100 boost, as well as early access to the Demon Hunter class prior to the expansion's release, though the date on which they will become available hasn't been announced yet.
The last bit of actual news from the press release are the contents of the Collector's Edition. It will set you back $90 and bring with it various digital bonuses, a full-color hardcover art book, a behind-the-scenes Blue-ray/DVD set, a CD soundtrack, and a Legion mouse pad. Personally I don't see the appeal outside of the art book, but each to its own I suppose.
As a final note, I really do hope Legion ends up being the expansion for World of Warcraft as I've invested far too many of my teenage years roaming around Azeroth and forming life-long friendships to now simply watch Blizzard run it in to the ground by somehow producing less content than the relatively inexperienced Vanilla team, yet simultaneously milking the playerbase for all they're worth. I want to love WoW Blizzard, don't make it so hard for me!
