[Update #2]: World of Warcraft's Shadowlands expansion has been pinned for an October 2020 release date!

[Update]: The Shadowlands pre-patch has landed onto the public test servers alongside the leveling rework, class changes and new event!

If you're eager to give World of Warcraft's upcoming Shadowlands expansion a try, you might be happy to hear that Blizzard has now announced the closed beta is just around the corner. And I really do mean around the corner, because it will be launching at some point next week!

As with the previous beta tests, there is unfortunately no way to guarantee entry. However, you can hop over to the WoW website and throw your hat into the proverbial ring. The odds of you getting in with the first wave are somewhat slim, but worry not as Blizzard tends to frequently increase the number of players throughout their beta tests.

Besides the beta announcement, Blizzard has also revealed one more tidbit - World of Warcraft: Shadowlands will be launching at some point this fall. The exact date is unfortunately still a mystery, but given the ongoing pandemic, the fact that it's even releasing this year is actually quite impressive.
