Abandon Ship is a singleplayer strategy/adventure game where you will have to take command of a ship and its crew in order to explore a vast and procedurally generated world. Along the way you will take up quests, deal with random events, and naturally, fight against pirates and gigantic monstrosities that delve in the ocean's depths.

Its obvious that Abandon Ship has taken heavy inspiration from FTL, but worry not as it has enough bells and whistles of its own to make things interesting. You'll see what I mean in one of the most recent combat trailers. Have a look:

Throughout your adventure you will be also able to upgrade your captain, ship, and crew, so you'll have to make damn sure you don't lose any of them on the high seas as skilled help is not easy to come by. On the positive side, as long as the captain is alive your journey can continue, even if this means you will have to drift across the ocean on a tiny lifeboat. Its not going to be easy clawing your way back, but you do at least have a chance at redemption unlike most other rogue-lite games.

Abandon Ship will be coming to PC later this year, though no exact release date has been announced just yet. If you would like to learn more, or just follow its development moving forward, I would suggest going to either Steam or the official website. And finally, here's a couple of images:
