Deep Rock Galactic concept artwork for the Caustic Mire biome

[Update]: Deep Rock Galactic Update 33 has added fancy new biomes, enemies and spruced up missions.

Much like the space Dwarves themselves, the Deep Rock Galactic devs sure are an industrious bunch. After only just releasing a massive new update that brought in fun new mission types and plenty of cosmetics, Ghost Ship Games have already returned to announce their content plans for early 2021.

As you can probably guess from that statement alone, this does mean that Update 33 will not be releasing this year as previously planned. On the positive side, there will be a fancy holiday event to keep us all occupied, as well as a "few cool surprises" along the way.

Naturally, all of this extra time will be going towards beefing up Update 33. You can expect to see two new biomes (Caustic Mire and Azure Weald), brand new enemy types that will present new and interesting problems, as well as an overhaul to the Mineral Trade Terminal in order to make it a bit more exciting.

Beyond that things get a bit hazy, partly because the developers themselves have not decided what's going to be a part of Update 34 or 35 just yet. What they are working on, however, is a new mission type, modding support, a new set of primary or secondary weapons, and even an assortment of new mods and overclocks to play around with!

All of this is currently in the early stages of development, so for the time being, consider only the features coming with Update 33 to be officially confirmed. Everything else will most likely still arrive, but when exactly that will happen, only time will tell.

Once we get more information I'll make sure to let you know. Until then, you can check out the freshly updated roadmap over at Steam. Rock and stone!
