If you were looking forward to diving into the narrative driven and Fallout inspired CRPG Broken Roads this November 14th, I'm afraid I have some good and bad news to share. Well, it's the same news really. In order to ensure everything is polished up and ready to go, the Drop Bear Bytes team has just pushed the release date back to early 2024.

“Since 2019 the Drop Bear Bytes team has been pouring their hearts & souls into Broken Roads, spending countless hours designing, troubleshooting, and adjusting to player feedback”, reads the brief update. “While Broken Roads is still coming, we've made the decision to delay the release to allow for additional polish time and QA manpower plus resources to ensure a higher quality bar for the thousands of permutations that can arise.”

“While the game is now content complete, it's also coming in longer than we originally anticipated at ~30 hours of gameplay and nearly 400,000 words of dialogue. As you can imagine, it's extremely time-consuming to properly test all of these.”

Personally, I always consider these types of delays to be purely beneficial. Yeah, waiting a few months longer sucks, but it sucks a whole lot less than playing an unfinished or unpolished game right now! On the positive side, at least the wait won't be that hard given that Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader is set to launch in early December and, if Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is any indicator, that one's bound to be a lengthy affair!

Once Broken Roads gets a new release date, I'll make sure to let you know. Until then, I'll leave you with one of the recent trailers. Enjoy!
