If you're a fan of the indie platform-fighter Rivals of Aether, I come bearing some good and bad news. The good news is that Aether Studios have just revealed Rivals of Aether 2 which aims to not only expand and greatly improve upon the original's formula, but also take it into a 3D direction!
As for the bad news, well... that would be the release date. Rivals of Aether 2 is currently pinned for a 2024 launch, though even that doesn't appear to be set in stone. But no matter what happens, it looks like we'll still have to wait for quite a while before getting a chance to dive in.
What you can expect to see when Rivals of Aether 2 finally arrives, as well as how it'll differ from the original, that you can find out through the freshly posted announcement trailer. Have a gander:
Aether Studios have also taken this opportunity to detail some of their plans for Rivals of Aether 2, covering a variety of topics like singleplayer, new moves and mechanics, as well as the competitive aspects of the game. You can read more about it over at the official FAQ.
Once more information becomes available, ideally alongside a proper release date, I'll make sure to let you know. Until then, I'll leave you with a few teaser images that came with the announcement.
