[Update]: After exactly a year in Early Access, Sons Of The Forest's Version 1.0 has now been unleashed!

If you were looking forward to chopping down trees and mutant cannibals in equal measure once Sons of the Forest arrives this May 20th, you might want to start making other plans. According to the freshly posted developer update, the sequel to the 2018 survival-horror The Forest has now been pushed back a couple of months.

"Over these past few weeks, we have realized that our May 2022 release date for Sons Of The Forest was overly ambitious," explains the brief announcement. "To be able to deliver our vision of the next step in survival games, we’ve decided to move our release date to October 2022."

Unsurprisingly given things went for the first one, no concrete release date has been given just yet. Once that changes, and we get a lengthier gameplay preview showing off just how what Sons of the Forest truly has to offer, I'll make sure to let you know.

Until then, you can read a little bit more about Sons of the Forest over at the official website. And just for good measure, I'll leave you with one of last year's trailers. Enjoy!
