Now that the gameplay quirks have been sorted out thanks to last year's Afterlife update, the Death's Gambit team has finally decided it is time to unleash the very first expansion - Ashes of Vados. The PC version of Ashes of Vados is already live, while the PlayStation and Switch will be getting their turn at some point in Spring.
As for the actual content, Ashes of Vados brings with it a continuation of the main storyline which will culminate in a challenging boss fight against Ash. Should you succeed, you'll be able to unlock a drastically different and significantly harder version of the encounter called "The Eldritch Hand!" to really help spice things up.
Keeping on with the theme, there are also tricksy new platforming challenges to overcome in the rather appropriately titled Halls of Cruelty. You can also expect to see a new Combat Arena that will have you fight waves upon waves of enemies, a Boss Rush mode that does exactly what it says on the tin, as well as four "New Game" modes to make subsequent playthroughs a bit more exciting.
Here's a brief rundown of what these four optional modes are all about:
Randomized Items - Receive a random item with every pickup
Heroic Forced - All bosses are fought in heroic mode
Madness Mode - All equipped items except weapons get destroyed upon dying
Fink Mode - Fink will ambush you at various points throughout the game
