Pathfinder: Kingmaker released back in 2018 alongside some fairly mixed reviews. While the core idea behind its gameplay and storytelling was solid, the actual execution was riddled with bugs, mechanical problems, as well as a variety of annoying design choices.
It would appear that most of these problems will soon be going away, however, as the developers have just put the free Enhanced Edition update onto the test servers. While the list of new features is still incomplete, you can expect to see new content, a new playable class, more items and weapons, as well as a whole host of balance changes, improvements and bug fixes.
The list is fairly extensive so I'm afraid I can't exactly summarize it, but if you're interested in all of the details, you can find the two-part update over at Steam. And if you feel like giving it a try for yourself instead of simply reading about it, all you need to do is visit your Steam Library, go into the betas tab for Pathfinder: Kingmaker, and then select the test branch and input the "Ms0SJWRhSRuo" code. Once you've done that the beta client will begin downloading and you should be good to go.
On the other hand, if you're interested in the developers themselves and what they're currently working on, I would also recommend checking out the most recent developer diary. It'll give you a pretty good idea of the direction they're trying to take the Enhanced Edition in. Enjoy!
